Ground truth, fast.Clear answers, in writing.

Boreholes, trial pits, soil nails and slope stabilisation — investigated, tested and reported by the crews who do the work, so nothing is lost between the ground and the recommendation. Based in Athi River, Nairobi, and working across East and South Africa.

What we do on site

From the first borehole to the signed-off report, one contractor carries the whole ground package — so nothing falls between trades. Five years of active experience on sites across East and South Africa.

Site Investigation

Window sampling, cable-percussion and rotary boreholes, plus machine-dug trial pits. Logged to BS 5930 and EC7 with in-situ testing as standard.

Slope Stabilisation

Soil nailing, anchored mesh, drainage and regrading for embankments, cuttings and failing retaining structures on live sites.

Soil Nailing

Design and installation of grouted soil nails and ground anchors, with pull-out testing and full as-built records on every face.

Ground Improvement

Vibro-compaction, dynamic compaction and stone columns to raise bearing capacity and cut settlement on variable or made ground.

Piling Support

Pile probing and attendance for CFA, rotary bored, driven precast and continuous flight auger systems, with pile-position setting out, concrete and grout records, and integrity testing on completion.

Reporting & Interpretation

Factual and interpretive ground investigation reports, foundation recommendations and slope stability assessments — issued as a signed-off package.

Geophysical Instrumentation

Seismic refraction, MASW, resistivity and downhole geophysics, plus standpipe and vibrating-wire piezometer installation with datalogging for long-term monitoring.

Five years of reading the ground

SoundRock Geotechnics Ltd has spent five years working on ground across Africa, from our base in Athi River, Nairobi. In that time we have investigated, stabilised and improved sites for main contractors, developers and civil engineers in Kenya and beyond.

We are a contractor, not a consultancy. Our crews drill, log and test, and our engineers write the report — so there is no third party between the borehole and the recommendation.

Most of our work comes from main contractors, developers and civil engineers who need a straight answer on ground conditions before a programme is fixed. We give them one, in writing, and stand behind it.
